Establishment
The General Pension and Social Security Authority (GPSSA) was established in accordance with the federal law no. 6 of the year 1999 and the pension and social security law was issued in accordance with the federal law no. 7 of the year 1999. Both federal laws were issued by the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al-Nahyan and the authority was lead by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum the Deputy Ruler of Dubai, the Minister of Finance and Chairman of GPSSA.
Scope of Work
The authority is mandated to apply the pension and retirement benefits for the UAE nationals in accordance with the provisions of federal laws regarding pensions and social security.
